What to Expect

When I arrive for your session, I’ll take a few minutes to get to know your dog and let them get comfortable with me and the camera. I move slowly and patiently—there’s no rush, and your dog sets the pace. We’ll chat briefly about any must-have shots or special considerations, and I’ll guide you through everything so you never have to wonder what to do next. I’ll suggest poses that feel natural, but I’m also watching for those in-between moments—gentle glances, playful nudges, quiet snuggles. My goal is to create a calm, enjoyable experience for everyone, especially your pup, so the session feels more like time together than a performance.

TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PHOTO SESSION!

Let’s start with the beauty side of things. Long-haired animals should be properly groomed before the shoot. If this is not possible, consider having them simply brushed. Got boogies? Wipe them away from their eyes (although I can edit any of the eye goobs out).

I generally provide snacks. However, if your animal has special dietary needs or allergies, consider bringing a small bag for them. Treats and even noise makers will keep them focused and attentive. Have them come a little hungry to give them motivation. They generally pay better attention when there is food involved.

*Let me know if your pet is not food motivated.

If you plan on being in the photo shoot, plan your outfit ahead of time. I recommend wearing something flexible and comfortable. (avoid big brand logos on the front of tees, I always suggest, keeping it simple, with classic colors). Neutral colors are the best for photo sessions.

Is there a certain toy or something special that you want to be photographed with your fur babe? Bring it!

The images can be finished anywhere from a week to 2.5 weeks. If desired sooner, please let me know so I can accommodate.

Important Info: If arriving at a public location

If you see another session finishing up, please be mindful of staying back far enough for the dogs to stay focused while finishing up their photoshoot. That will keep the excitement to a minimum for all parties.

We want to be as calm as we can at the photo session. Please keep all dogs on a leash when arriving.

In Home

We can photograph in a backyard or front yard, and usually requires some amount of shade. Indoors photos, we need a lot out outside natural light coming in. If there is a particular spot your pet likes, I can bring a few small external lights.

Dog aesthetic: Please bring any wearables you wish to have in the photos. I bring some dog accessories but you are welcome to also bring those accessories you've been wanting them to show off!

Collars and leashes: I can edit leashes out, but not all collars, especially martingales, e-collars or "pinch" collars. If they need to have them on, I suggest wearing them when arriving and switching out to a simple collar for the photo session.

I cannot edit a harness out of the images. I also suggest switching out from harness to collar when being photographed.
